So Pretty

5 Months -- 21 Weeks & 4 Days -- 151 Days

Today marks the 5th month, 21st week or 151st day that Princess P has been in our lives.  The joy she has brought is indescribable but I'll give it a whirl.

Princess P ... You are growing faster than your brother and your brousin put together!  You are very alert to every move they make and I know that in a blink of an eye I'll look up and instead of rolling around in your playpen eating your toes you will be climbing out of the contraption so you can follow the big kids around. 

On Mommy's birthday we introduced you to the wonderful world of "solid food" which is actually more like very watery oatmeal but nonetheless, we introduced ya to it.  As you can see from the pictures you were NOT impressed; however, you have now come around eating it like a champ.  You have liked every type of baby food we have tried EXCEPT the Chicken or Turkey.  Your big sister is continually coming to your defense and is always asking .. "WELL, would YOU eat that?????".  She had a point, so we haven't offered ya anymore pureed chicken or turkey.  lol.

You started rolling over on March 7th!!  A little belated birthday present for your Nana I suppose.  :o)  You did it once and it was mastered from that moment on!!  Although you did make Daddy, Ky, TLC & I watch you none stop for an hour just waiting and cheering you on and then wouldn't you know it was the moment we all got up to get some milk and cookies that you decided to go that last mile over to your belly.  We were all SOOO bummed and you just picked your head up and SMILED.  So we promptly rolled you back over to your back and you rolled right back to your belly, ending with the same big smile as the house filled up with cheer (okay and I cried but I am the mommy, I am allowed). 

After months of Mommy cursing your Nee Nee for letting your Brousin suck his thumb, you with all your glory have decided to avenge her by finding your thumb and refusing a pacifier.  While you are adorable sucking it with your little pointer finger hooked on your nose, I refuse to give in.  TLC and I are constantly telling you "no thumb" while everyone else oos and ahhs and makes snotty remarks to me about eating my words!  BLASTED girl, you're supposed to wait till your a teenager till you start makin a liar outta me.  :o)  

You have also made it through your first round of a being sick.  You were a champ and I have to say that I am very lucky when it comes to sick babies because all in all you and your brother were very good sickies.  lol.  You still nursed very well allowing me to easily keep you hydrated and once Nana told me to give you your medicine from a nipple instead of that syringe thingy, you even took that like a champ.  You are lots better now and back to your old self.

I will admit now that I have an addiction ... My name is Mommy and I am 100% addicted to your smile and giggle.  I will change your diaper and then lay on the bed next to you working for smiles and giggles ... before I know it twenty minutes have passed and we are no closer to ready then when we walked INTO the bedroom.  oh well, that's one of the perks of my job!!

I like to sing to you even though I am an awful singer ... so when its just me and you at home I turn You Tube on to help me sing my song for you.  You like it and just watch me sing.  Sometimes you smile, sometimes you frown (which I don't blame you) but you always sit pretty still while listening to me.  This song describes exactly how I feel and I hope that throughout the years you are secured and comforted by the fact that no matter WHAT I'll be here for you.

You have a few nicknames that we all like to call you ... obviously Princess P but Daddy calls you his little Peanut and I call your my Sugar Bee.  Ky and TLC both love to call you their Peyton girl.  Although we should all call you Mini Ky because you look EXACTLY like her.  I really need to post a side by side because SERIOUSLY, dead ringer.  In fact, I am considering saving money on all future monthly pictures and just putting a picture of Ky in your frames.  ;o)  Okay I am seriously kidding but you do look exactly alike. 

Okay, Daddy just got back from taking TLC to school and I have to get you and me ready to go to the Zoo.  Of course there will be lots of pictures of THAT cause daddy just got a new camera so .... stay tuned.

3 Months

Here we are Miss Peyton, 3 months and it still feels like yesterday that I was in the hospital.  You are such a sweet baby and you steal my heart with each breath, smile and coo.

You have had a wild 3 months but that's what happens when your born at the cusp of the holidays season!  Right after Christmas you took your first road trip to Silver City, NM.  Sadly it was for a funeral but none the less you did fantastic.  The day started early as we picked up Mommy's best friend from the airport and headed straight into the long drive (after a bite of breakfast of course).  You and Zoe (Mommy's friend's 5 month old) did amazing!  You both were only fussy once through the entire drive and amazingly enough it was around the same time for the same reasons .. you two were hungry!  lol  We stopped once and nursed you guys and then you were good to go.  I was so happy and proud that we didn't have screaming babies for 5+ hours and so was everyone else in the car.

You survived your first new years even though you were surrounded by crazy teenagers and a rambunctious 3 year old!  You brought in the new year calmly and peacefully in your cradle asleep.  :o)



January has been full of Mommy trying to figure out a routine for us.  This is a bit of a challenge since everyday of the week is different for Mommy thus making it different for you thus making a "schedule" damn near impossible.  But don't worry my Princess P, I will make it happen - just for you!  Okay that is a lie, its mostly for me but you benefit from it too.  ha ha.

You are talking and smiling now and I love it.  You will just coo and coo and coo if someone will sit and talk to you.  You light up like the NM Sky Line when your sister talks to you.  Oh my goodness no one can get a smile out of you like Kylie can.  And you look EXACTLY like Kylie too.  I will get Nana to scan in Kylie's 3 month old picture and then we will do a side by side of you  both and boy howdie do you two look alike!  Guess your Dad's genes run strong through you two stinky girls.  :o)

Your brother LOVES to take a bath with you!  He loves the nights before school because that is when you two bath together.  I can't believe your big enough to bath in your little bath WITH him but man do you love it.  You kick and smile soo much.  You also never take your eyes off him, you are taking in everything he does and I am affraid will be doing everything he is doing ALL to soon.  :o)  I have a video of you two in the bath on my cell phone but I have yet to figure out how to post it here ... stay tuned, I haven't given up yet.  If anyone has any helpful tips, I'd love to hear them.

Lastly, we got your dedicated to the Lord and our Church family last week.  This is a commitment we as your parents make and that our church family makes to raise you in a Christian home and teaching you every step along the way of how much God loves you and to help you learn how we serve Him and others throughout our lives.  It was a great night and you looked beautiful! 





Till Month 4 ...I love you sweet Princess

7 Weeks & 5 Days Old!

My Dearest Peyton:

It's been 7 weeks & 5 days since I first held you in my arms and I can't thank God enough for giving me you!  You have chunked up a bit since you were born .. coming into this world at a whopping 6.04lbs to now a healthy 7.11lbs.  You have grown an inch and a half and are officially out of preemie clothes and into newborn clothes, YEAH!!!

Let's see, let me get in the basics before I start rambling about how much I love you!  You nurse like a champ (have from the start) and the day after Thanksgiving Daddy gave you your first bottle which you also took too like a pro.  You enjoy the time you get when taking a bottle from Daddy or Nana but you still love to nurse just as much.  I am not a BIG fan of the pacifier but you seem to like it pretty well ... not so much that we will have it for the next 4 years of your life but a couple more months at least.  I am afraid you have lots to do with your mouth and the pacifier gives ya something to do.  Sadly for your future teachers I think you will be doomed to be a talker like your dad and I, lol.  You sleep 6 hours solid during the night giving me a good rest for our days together. 

Your brother adores you and loves "fixing" you when your crying by SHOVING placing your pacifier in your mouth.  He tells us your tiny and beautiful all the time.  He loves reading his bedtime stories to you.  We have to place you on his bed so you can participate in story time.  If he doesn't get to read to you he is NOT happy with us.  I had wondered if TLC would be protective of you and well that question is answered when your Brousin tries to play with you OR your stuff ... your brother is quick to try to keep him in check about what is PEYTON'S and NOT Wesleys.  Too cute.  Your big sister adores you!  She likes to get her cuddle time in while we are putting your brother down for bed at night ... she cuddles up on the couch with you and you two are perfectly content with the world around you.  You truly are loved by your siblings (and Brousin).

Strength - boy you have it!  I thought TLC was strong but your muscles amaze me.  You constantly are standing on our laps while you amazingly enough are holding your head up and turning from side to side to look around.  When on your tummy you "scoot" with little effort ... not to the point were you are going anywhere - mostly you just get yourself into really funky positions cause the rest of your body can't keep up with your legs but nonetheless you are giving it your best shot.

I am loving the fact that I am getting to stay home for the time being and can watch and experience all of your daily doings myself.  Its been so fun and slightly frusterating learning your ways ... for some STUPID reason I thought I would have one up on ya cause I have already been through this stage with TLC but in fact while I have a general idea on things you have your own unique ways about how things are gonna go down!!  lol.
